The Academy Barons are a summer collegiate baseball team based out of the Compton Youth Academy, one of Major League Baseball's premier youth development facilities located in Compton, California.

Founded in 2006, the Compton Youth Academy was established as part of Major League Baseball's Urban Youth Academy initiative, with a mission to grow the game, provide high-level instruction, and create opportunities for athletes in underserved communities. The academy serves as a hub for both athletic and personal development, offering elite training, mentorship, and educational support to players at all levels.

The Academy Barons compete in the California Collegiate League (CCL), one of the top summer collegiate wood-bat leagues in the country. Established in 1993, the CCL features elite college baseball players from top NCAA programs who compete in professional-style environment throughout the summer.

As members of the league's South Division, the Barons compete against premier programs across California, providing players with high-level competition, exposure to professional scouts, and the opportunity to continue their development using wooden bats and professional-level gameplay conditions.

The Academy Barons are committed to developing advanced collegiate talent while representing the Compton community with pride.
